How Does Glympse Work?
Glympse uses your mobile phone’s GPS capability to let you share or request location via a web-based map. Sharing your location with someone is called “Sending a Glympse.” A Glympse is sent as a text message or an email, as well as through social media and Whatsapp. When the person(s) clicks on the Glympse link they receive after you share your location with them, they can view your location in real-time and see your real-time ETA on a web-based map for as long as you choose to share your location with them.

Glympse Public Tag Feature
The Glympse Public Tags feature in the Glympse app allows you to quickly view and share your location with multiple people on a single, shared Glympse map. Glympse Public Tags are public spaces where anyone who knows the public tag name can view and add themselves to the tag map.
When you view a Glympse Public Tag map, you see a map of people who have chosen to join the tag (e.g.,!ThiesenFamilyReunion or !PortlandCyclingClub). People join a Glympse Public Tag simply by sharing a Glympse with that tag. They do not need to send a Glympse individually to everyone in the tag.
Creating a Glympse Public Tag allows you to easily keep track of or interact with friends during common activities such as sporting events, concerts, reunions, and more. For example, if you and several friends plan to meet to tailgate at a football game, you would all send a Glympse to: !WisconsinEaglesTailgate. The location of each public tag member will then show up on the tag map for as long as they’ve chosen to share. As with a traditional Glympse, individuals can stop actively sharing their location any time they choose.
Glympse Public Tags start with an exclamation point (!). Anyone can view Glympse Public Tag maps on any web-enabled device at http://glympse.com/!your_tag_name . Anyone viewing the Glympse Public Tag’s map can add themselves to that shared map by tapping the “Join Tab” button.
