Glympse isn’t working! What do I do if Glympse isn’t working correctly on my phone?

Glympse uses your mobile device to determine your GPS coordinates. You may experience issues with Glympse not working correctly if:

  1. Your mobile phone loses connectivity. (weak cellular signals, bad weather, physical obstructions like tall buildings).
  2. If your phone’s battery is getting low. If this is the case, Glympse will disable location sharing to minimize battery consumption.

What can you do if one of these two things happens and you want to verify whether Glympse is working correctly on your phone?

  1. Include yourself, either by phone number or email address, on any new Glympse you wish to verify. You can also modify an existing active Glympse to include yourself. When you get the Glympse invite link, click it to view your location in your web browser (Safari or Chrome). If the webpage displays your real-time path accurately, it is also sure that others can see the same.
  2. If you think that Glympse might not be accurately detecting your location, check your phone’s “Settings” to make sure that GPS or Location Services are configured properly on your device and that Glympse has the necessary permissions to access your location.  See the graphic below.
