How Glympse Premium Tags Helped the Georgetown Fire Department Collect Thousands of Toys for Children in Need
The Georgetown, MA Fire Department (GTFD) is a third-time user of the Glympse Santa Tracker and a first-time user of our new Premium Tags for their 2023 Santa Tour.
Brian Coolidge, PMP, Public Information Officer for the GTFD, reached out to us for an easy, customizable solution that would help them spread Christmas cheer to their community while also supporting an important cause.
The Santa Tour takes Santa and his team of volunteers along almost 65 miles of road in the Georgetown area, collecting toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. The results are extraordinary: this year, they collect 3,884 toys!

Throughout the 10 hour day, residents can use the Santa Tracker to see Santa's location as he makes his way around town. That way, they can be ready to bring out their toys when he reaches their area. No need to wait out in the cold or worry about missing out — everyone is able to get their donation to Santa right on time.
Brian told us:
We had some great feedback on the app, and it appeared every time I looked at it (several times that day) there were at least 30 people viewing our location.
One thing that made the event especially challenging this year was the weather: they had rain showers and heavy rain all day long. But as Brian says, “despite the weather, it was a success.” With the help of Santa Tracker via Premium Tags, the GTFD ended up collecting nearly 4,000 toys for Toys for Tots!
Needless to say, the community of Georgetown certainly felt the magic of Christmas this year!
